We're the Word of the Year! Yay Us!
Topics in this Podcast:
Just a little show note. It’s the end of the year, in case you didn’t know, and my work load has increased by 50 times, so we might only get 1 or 2 shows squeezed out by the end of the year. But I still love you!
We kick off the show with a little more info behind the scenes of the Sharp M4000 review. Seriously, this is what we go through for our listeners and readers. I hope you’re happy! We follow it up with some new gift suggestions. Even a few for the kids!
We’ve had a lot of traffic to our thread on the Dell 2405FPW, and now Dell is set to introduce the 30” 3007FPW with HDCP. So… HD TV/monitor buying guide update time! Here’s a somewhat coherent run down of what the heck HDMI and HDCP are, and what’s with 1080p? Is it better than 1080i? News news news…
Nintendo revolution – 128MB? $150? Discouraged developers? More like Nintendo REVOLTION! Hahaha. I’m so clever.
Microsoft is being sued over the Xbox360 defects. Expect the class action suit sometime next month. They say only 3% defective. Not good news, especially when you consider that the XBox360 didn’t sell out in Europe on launch day.
Creative launches the Zen Vision:M. The iPod video is now Creative’s penitentiary cellmate lover. Listen for the reasons why…
120 inch LED display! OMG! Wait, the specs suck. Oh, this is for buildings. Nevermind, move along. There’s nothing to see here.
iTunes Music Store changes the pricing structure, and thus begins the true death of the music industry.
Cell phones? You got one? Awesome! Cingular launches their 3G network, with HSDPA. Nice. Verizon gets the Motorola leftovers, with the RAZR V3C. Say goodnight, Bluetooth fans. And CellTradeUSA is awesome. Bypass those contract termination fees by selling your phone – contract and all! Track Rover with his very own cell phone.
Finally, the odds and ends. Coffee can prevent liver disease. Alcohol distributors rush to add caffeine to their beverages. Merriam-Webster launch a Wikipedia style dictionary, to the amusement of corny humor everywhere. And Podcast is the Oxford Dictionary’s Word of the Year. As I said. We rock.
